Everyone knows of the Hinterlands. Mothers fed their cubs tales of the vast, boreal landscape and its many nooks and crannies. Many entered it through the mountain pass on weary and scarred paws. It is as they said - a rich, diverse land. But deceiving, nevertheless. War comes to valuable lands, and thus peace does not find every canid that comes to the Hinterlands. Some develop a following of loyal packmates. Others retreat into the dark caverns by the sea. Cubs rise through the ranks to become valiant hunters and huntresses. Those that fall by the wayside may never rise again.
